Tidewater Baptist Temple

Our first mission conference meeting outside of our home church was this Sunday. We spent all day with the wonderful people of Tidewater Baptist Temple, in Chesapeake, VA. Pastor and Mrs. Pearson and the congregation were so encouraging to us as Nikki gave her testimony in Sunday School, I preached the morning service, and we presented our ministry in the evening service. We had a great time of fellowship around lunch with the Smith and Drylie families, and got to hear how the Lord has worked in their lives. The generosity and love of this church amazes us, especially considering the trials they have been through. Last September, their building burned down, and they are currently meeting in another church’s facilities. Despite that, their love for the Lord and for missions was apparent in the time we spent with them. We are excited about the friends and prayer partners we met at Tidewater Baptist Temple.

  2. Glad to have you! Cambodia has been on my heart and mind ever since, although I did have to look at a map. I listened to the evening presentation online and was so surprised to hear my question. I had thought it may be similar to Japan but 1% in Cambodia is a smaller number since it is a smaller population.

Just remember most communication is non-verbal. I have no doubt you will be able to get the Lord’s message out even while you are learning the language. I’ve been reading in Exodus. When Moses didn’t think he could speak,God told Moses, “Certainly I will be with thee”. So it will be the same for you.

“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” I John 3:18
